Company profile and tear sheet
In financial jargon, a presentation of a company, usually summarized on just one sheet of paper, that banks send to their customers; ultimately with the intention that they buy shares in the company in question. Tear sheets – the term originally designates a page removed from a newspaper or book for use separately – are often identical in wording to the assessments produced by rating agencies and nowadays also mostly available on the Internet (a brief statement of information on publicly-traded companies. These one-page sheets, often grounded on the sheets published by rating agencies, summarise key fundamental analysis metrics and recent operating results of the firms. Traders often send tear sheets to current or potential clients to encourage them to invest in certain companies). – See credit rating, downrating, investment grade, calibration, profiling, rating, risk profile, run rate, shadow rating.
