Practice (praxis)

A word that is also frequently used in the field of finance to mean acting in accordance with relevant principles and expert knowledge underlying the activity (theoretical grounding, scientific basis). – The totality of knowledge and experience gained from professional work in the financial field. – The well-rehearsed behavior and customary procedure, the consistent way of making decisions in special cases, such as customer complaints or suspicion of money laundering, and in this sense usually meant in announcements by the supervisory authority; then also often called practice (customary established and generally accepted way to make a decision). – All persons working in the financial sector, all professionals engaged in financial activities, as a professional group, and in this sense especially referring to their attitudes and opinions toward policy requests, performance targets of the supervisory authority or lectures by know-it-all professors. – See banking, banking, poltergeist, theorist.
