Portal service (aggregator)

In the financial markets, an Internet provider that aggregates the similar offerings of various financial service providers in a clearly arranged manner, thus enabling improved market transparency at the touch of a button (a provider who gathers and displays Web content such as offers to buy or to sell, quotations, market prices or exchange rates from multiple websites to a single location). – The supervisory authorities have recently been increasingly examining whether such offers constitute financial services requiring a license. In Germany, investment brokerage requiring a license is deemed to be fulfilled if, in addition to the provision of information on financial instruments, the provider is named and a connection is established with the provider via a forwarding channel. – See investment brokerage, flash crash, trading system, alternative, peer-to-peer lending, phishing.
