Poltergeist (noisy ghost)

In the jargon of central bankers – an ego-addicted scientist, union official or politician, – who loudly addresses the central bank with effective publicity, – usually with the demand to lower interest rates. – According to research, government representatives criticize the ECB especially when things are in a bad condition in their own country and the central bank can then serve as a scapegoat (someone who is blamed or punished for the errors and misdeeds of others). Moreover, government representatives in the European Monetary Union usually view the ECB through their national spectacles and fail to recognize that the ECB has an overall responsibility for price stability in the monetary union. – See instructions, monetary policy, code words, hawkish, willingness to act, know-nots, paradoxomania, low interest rate policy, practice, sovereign debt pressure, southern front, stealth policy.
