Financial firms
In German legal terminology, firms that are not institutions but engage in certain financial market transactions enumerated in the law, primarily cash handling, acquisition of equity interests, factoring, leasing, credit card issuance, trading in financial instruments on own account, money brokerage, and financial advisory services. – See bank, financial service provider, institution, investment firm. – Cf. the precise list in Section 1, Paragraph 3 of the German Banking Act (KWG).
