Cost company arrangement
Contract between the producer of a product or project and its financiers. Under this arrangement, the financiers receive the product free of charge, i.e. without payment, if they bear all the associated costs (an agreement between the producer of a product or project and its financiers whereby the financiers are entitled to receive the product for free, provided they agree to pay all the costs associated with producing it). – In the past, such contracts were mainly used for government orders in the course of developing new weapons technology. More recently, institutes have also concluded such contracts with software developers.
