Coinage care

Services provided by the central bank to ensure the operational capability of all coins issued as legal tender. This includes the issuance of coins fresh from the mint, clearing transfer, counterfeit currency analysis, replacement of worn coins, removal of unfit coins to the mints and the collection of a quality controlling sample of the hard currency returned to the central bank as part of the clearing process. – See Wear and tear, minting errors, subferral rates.
