Tick (also used in German, but with different meanings)

Another term for a price change limit introduced by the stock exchange (the maximum amount that the price of an exchange-traded item can fluctuate upward or downward). – In another sense, a tick is also called a price jump up or down (the term “tick” is also used in reference to the direction of the price of an exchange-traded asset, with an “uptick” denoting a trade where the transaction has occurred at a price higher than the foregoing transaction, and a “downtick” meaning a transaction that has occurred at a lower price). – See price jump, limit, tick.
