Threshold (trigger point)

Amount of liquidity made available, determined in advance by the central bank, at which a margin call is made. – Amount of a borrower’s liable capital above which a credit institution is required to obtain disclosure of the borrower’s financial circumstances in accordance with Section 18 of the German Banking Act (KWG). – Cf. BaFin Annual Report 2005, p. 109 (raising the threshold to 10 percent of liable capital or EUR 0.75 million).
