Sweep account
Two accounts maintained at the same bank, of which – one is interest-bearing and the amounts in it are intended for longer-term investment; – the other account, on the other hand, is used for daily monetary transactions (a combination of two accounts at the same bank; this is useful in managing a steady cash flow between a cash account used to make scheduled payments, and an investment account where the cash is able to accrue a higher return). Some banks and also credit card companies now offer transfer accounts to private customers and small businesses. – See account, automatically balanced, account balance adjustment, automatic.
