Straddle (also used in German, more rarely Grätsche; straddle = to stand with legs spread apart)
The purchase or sale of an equal number of puts and calls having the same terms and conditions. – Option in which – against payment of a premium – the principal acquires the right – within a certain period of time – to buy (call transaction) and/or sell (put transaction) an underlying asset at a certain price or – to forego a transaction altogether.- In betting and also financial betting, the doubling of the stake (a method of betting where the previous bet is doubled). – See Butterfly Spread, Candidate Bet, Option, Spread Bet, Stella Transaction, Strangle.
