Spring shoots (green shoots)

In financial jargon, for the first signs of recovery in a depressed market (segment), especially for a slight rise in prices (moderate rise, upturn) on the stock exchange after a long period of bear market. – The preliminary stage, as it were, are green roots as the very first signs of a market recovery.
