Rye bonds

Bonds in kind denominated in the monetary value of certain weights of rye. These were issued in Germany during the inflationary period by Roggenrentenbank AG, which was set up for this purpose in the fall of 1922. Interest was also paid in units of rye weight. The bonds were converted by law in the spring of 1934 into Reichsmark bonds on the basis of 50 kg rye = RM 7.50. – See bond, grain value, non-cash bonds.
