Repurchase transaction
Unless otherwise defined, in the older literature, the acceptance of fixed-income securities at a fixed price on the last day of a month in which trading takes place in exchange for their return at the same price plus an interest premium on the next last day of trading. The securities are taken under repurchase agreements and earn interest for the caregiver. – See repurchase agreement.
