Protection requirement

Pursuant to Section 2 of the Deposit Guarantee and Investor Compensation Act of 1998, institutions in Germany are required to safeguard their deposits and liabilities arising from securities transactions in accordance with this Act by belonging to a compensation scheme (protection scheme). – See Deposit Guarantee Scheme, Compensation Scheme for Securities Trading Companies, Fire Fund, Pool, Protection Fund for Life Insurers. – Cf.
