Profit, operating profit
The profit earned from a firm’s standard core business operations; it does not include any profit earned from the firm’s investments, such as earnings from businesses in which the company has partial rights. In the case of stock corporations, it is an important determinant of the share price. – See cash flow, contribution margin, EBITDA, earnings, operating, free cash flow, businesses, operating, profit cycle, return on sales. – Cf.
