Opening range
On the stock exchange, the period shortly after the opening of the trading session and the prices achieved within this phase (opening prices; opening quotations; opening = the period at the beginning of the trading session officially designated by the exchange during which all transactions are considered made ‘at the opening’). The respective exchange rules describe this period in more detail. So-called opening orders must be executed at a price within the opening range. – See closing price strategy.
