Negative pledge
In the financial market, the obligation of a creditor to waive the provision of collateral in favor of other lenders. – The binding declaration made by a debtor to the bank not to sell, encumber or transfer assets to third parties as collateral during the term of the loan without the bank’s consent; also referred to in this context as a negative pledge clause.
