Name identity ([firm’s] name identity)

According to European Community law and supervisory agreements, credit institutions may – irrespective of any rules on the use of the words “bank”, “savings bank” or other bank designations – use the same name throughout the EU as in their country of domicile when carrying on their business. If there is a risk of confusion, host countries may require explanatory particulars to be added to the name for the sake of clarity. – See Goodwill, Market Entry Costs.
