Market demarcation agreement
In finance, the agreement between mostly large institutions, – in each other’s home country – for example: UBS in Germany / Deutsche Bank in the Swiss Confederation – or – in certain geographical areas – such as: Eastern Europe – not to be active. For reasons of antitrust law (with regard to anti-trust provisions), such agreements are usually only made verbally at the level of the highest management levels (top executive suites). Notes and records of any kind are avoided as evidence. However, it is an established principle of experience (experimental base) that such agreements have been observed very closely up to now.
