Investment, government (public investment)
In financial statistics, investment includes both real investment (construction, acquisition of real and personal property) and financial investment (acquisition of equity stakes, granting of loans, use of guarantees and payments to other sectors for investment purposes). For this reason, an increase in government investment does not necessarily mean an increase in government assets. – See economic stimulus package. – Cf. Monthly Report of the Deutsche Bundesbank of October 2009, p. 26 (delimitation issues), Annual Report 2013 of the Deutsche Bundesbank, p. 58 et seq. (gross fixed capital formation of general government broken down since 1991; overview).
