Finance company
A company, often in a corporate group, that extends credit but does not accept deposits (company engaged in making loans to individuals or businesses; but unlike a bank, it does not receive deposits from the public). As a rule, they exclusively serve customers in a specific economic sector, such as real estate. – Sometimes also said for a special purpose vehicle. – See bank, domestic financing, fund, in-house system, institution, non-bank. – Cf.
