Factory (fabric)

In older documents also a fund or treasury for the maintenance of buildings, especially churches (fund for repair, reconstruction and maintenance of church buildings and its furnishings). The person responsible for the maintenance of the church buildings was called fabricant (fabric: one who has charge of maintenance).
