Escape clause
Generally, a rider built into a contract (rider: an addition or amandment to a document) that allows the contracting parties to deviate from the basic contract in the event of any rigidities that are detrimental to them. – See Labor Costs, Minimum Requirements for Risk Management. – Cf.
