E-money (e-money)
Monetary value stored on a data carrier. – In more detail, the EU E-Money Directive of 2000 defines e-money as – a monetary value – in the form of a claim against the issuing entity, – stored on a data carrier, – issued against receipt of a sum of money whose value is not less than the monetary value issued, and – accepted as a means of payment by entities other than the issuing entity. – See e-money, money, electronic.
