Derby (also used in German, sometimes dogfight)

In financial journalism, a competition between two or more institutions, usually related to a local market; a local rivalry. – Dogfight (a fight as between dogs) has the secondary meaning of dogged competition, a ruthless feud in which only one institution survives in the end – and even that institution is severely weakened. – See mergers and acquisitions, poison pill, raider, takeover, hostile.
