Cross rate (so also said in German; rarely cross rate)
The calculated exchange rate that can be derived from the concatenation of two other exchange rates. As a rule, cross rates are calculated using the USD. For example, the EUR/GBP or GBP/EUR ratio can be determined from a EUR/USD and GBP/USD rate. – In practice, cross rates are needed where there is no official exchange rate between two currencies. – See Foreign Exchange Market, Forced Exchange Economy, Exchange Rate
