The checking comparison of the amount that has to be paid for the purchase of a good. Such a comparison is made much easier/difficult if it is made in terms of the same/different money. The comparability of prices was an important argument for the introduction of the EUR; especially since, even according to reliable studies, not one tenth of the German population is capable of performing a rule of three (from three known quantities, a fourth unknown quantity in relation to them must be found). – Cf.
