Cash rate (conversion rate)

In older documents, the amount at which a foreign currency (coin, bill of exchange) is valued when it is entered in the cash book. As a rule, the cash rate was agreed upon in contracts; otherwise, the exchange rate of the leading foreign exchange market was used as a basis. – See foreign exchange, foreign exchange rate, coin commis, exchange rate.
