Blue chips (also referred to in German)
Companies which are highly-regarded by investors, particularly by those seeking a conservative investment in shares. – Shares – and in a broader sense sometimes also used for all financial instruments – of first-class companies, i.e. of companies that received the highest marks in the rating.
