Accrued-interest paper
A security that is issued at par but does not bear interest on an ongoing basis; instead, the repayment amount includes interest and compound interest in addition to the capital invested. Repayment usually takes place after a fixed term. The interest rate is fixed at the time of issue. – See discount paper, federal savings bonds, interest.
