Beekeeping fee

Formerly a fee for permission to keep honeybees (honeybees). – A former fee that non-resident beekeepers (apiarists) had to pay into the municipal treasury if they – let their bee colony swarm out in the fields of the municipality or – also housed the beehive for wintering. Imme = honey bee. – In terms of economic history, honey plays an important role, because until after 1800 honey was by far the most important means of sweetening food and medicines. Only after that did the extraction of sugar from beets flourish. – See Beutnergeld, Bienenprämie, Zeidlergeld.
