In former times, in some places, a customary payment to a clergyman for commemorating individual persons by name during the divine service in general – and during the COMMEMORATIO PRO VIVIS before the consecration or the COMMEMORATIO PRO DEFUNCTIS after the consecration within the old Catholic mass celebration in particular. – Older term for a commemorative coin, foam coin (souvenir coin that has as its theme an important event, personality or some other subject). – See official money, medal, memorial money, coin, coin paradox, numismatics.
