Pankratium and Pankration (pancratium)

In older documents, in relation to the financial market, a completely disorderly competition by any means, including vicious ones (pancratium signifies in ancient Greece an athletic contest involving both boxing and wrestling). – There seems to be a tendency that both individual parts of the financial market and the financial market as a whole, without supervision, would end up in a pancratium, above all at the expense of customers and investors. This is because the individual providers would drive each other to ruin. Competition that is regulated by law and supervised by the supervisory authorities is therefore considered a necessity. – See deterrence, regulatory investor protection, regulatory avoidance, committee mania, BaFin levy, Banana Skins Survey, supervision, complete, dissemination, free banking, fragmentation, supervisory, rumor mongering, collusion, moral suasion, Murphy’s law, overbanked, avenging angels, regulatory pressure, regulatory mania, transparency level, overregulation.
