In general – the domestic and foreign supply and demand for – all money-related services of banks, stock exchanges, insurance companies and others, including the shadow banking sector – in any form, for example also on the Internet, on posters or in the advertising section of newspapers. – The financial market globally and/or as a whole, often then referred to in the plural form (“financial markets”), is considered to be a system in need of external stabilization. It requires supervision and regulation. – In portfolio theory, the theoretically discussed coincidence of supply and demand for financial assets. To the extent that the financial market is usually described as a perfect market, this does not correspond to reality. For even in all sectors of the financial market, there are always insiders who have the relevant information and outsiders who do not. – Services provided by banks and financial conglomerates that are subject to supervision by the respective national supervisory authority (prudential definition). – All operations of monetary financial institutions – as mostly defined in ECB statistics. – See valuability, extortion potential, financial services, financial industry, financial capital, financial crisis, financial market disciplining function, financial center, financial psychology, financial sector, financial statistics, financial flow, fear thesis, hoax, information efficiency, strict, information gap, credit intermediation platform, system conflict, financial market, conspiracy theories. – Cf.
