Coffee box (thank-you box, coffee kitty)

A collection box often set up in doctors’ offices, hospitals and other service establishments to receive tips from patients and visitors. The money thus received is usually used to purchase coffee or other beverages to feed the employees working there. – See cash-in, cash register, petty cash.
