Spider
Special index fund, as the special fund set up and managed by a capital management company, which copies an index. Here in particular the Standard & Poor’s Depositary Receipts (SPDR) formed the basis in 1993. Because of the abbreviation SPDR, these securities were called spiders.

Speciaal indexfonds, d.w.z. het speciale fonds dat is opgericht en wordt beheerd door een maatschappij voor kapitaalbeheer, die een index kopieert. Met name de Standard & Poor’s Depositary Receipts (SPDR) vormden in 1993 de basis. Vanwege de afkorting SPDR werden deze effecten spiders genoemd.
