Seehandlung (Bank of Prussia)
Founded in 1772 as a state-owned company with originally very broad business activities, since 1845 a pure banking house, renamed “Preussische Staatsbank (Seehandlung)” in 1918, liquidated in 1947 with the dissolution of Prussia and the remaining assets transferred to a foundation with the purpose of awarding scholarships to writers from Eastern Europe. This institute played an important role in Prussia’s economic history, especially in trade promotion and internal colonization (internal colonisation: the efforts with regard to economic and social improvement of underdeveloped provinces within Prussia). – See Land Credit Institute, Melioration Credit, Settlement Credit.

Im Jahr 1772 gegründete staatliche Gesellschaft mit ursprünglich sehr weitem Geschäftskreis, seit 1845 reines Bankhaus, 1918 umbenannt in “Preussische Staatsbank (Seehandlung)”, 1947 mit der Auflösung Preussens liquidiert und das Restvermögen in eine Stiftung mit dem Zweck der Vergabe von Stipendien für Schriftsteller aus Osteuropa eingebracht. In der Wirtschaftsgeschichte Preussens – wie vor allem bei der Handelsförderung und der inneren Kolonisation (internal colonisation: the efforts with regard to economic and social improvement of underdeveloped provinces within Prussia) – spielte dieses Institut eine bedeutende Rolle. – Siehe Bodenkreditinstitut, Meliorationskredit, Siedlungskredit.

Grundat 1772 som ett statsägt företag med ursprungligen mycket bred affärsverksamhet, sedan 1845 ett rent bankhus, omdöpt till “Preussische Staatsbank (Seehandlung)” 1918, likviderat 1947 i samband med Preussens upplösning och de återstående tillgångarna överförda till en stiftelse med syfte att dela ut stipendier till författare från Östeuropa.
