Salary government grant

Unless otherwise defined, the payments made (appropriated) by the central government to the constituent states and by the latter to municipalities to ensure the full remuneration of public employees in the municipalities. In Germany, this was introduced during the period after World War I, starting in 1918; the reorganization of the fiscal equalization system of April 1, 1924, eliminated the salary subsidy.
