A bill, printed small card, or token (chip, token) representing a certain amount and used among gamblers as a substitute for money. – The stake in a game of chance (gambling game), expressed as a sum. – In sports, and especially in football, the payment to players taking part in a competition, entry fee – Payment made to employed artists, actors and musicians in addition to their salary when they have to perform several times at an event. – In some establishments, tokens to be exchanged for cash by patrons and given to staff as tips.
