Acquisition (acquisition; earnings; purchase)
In the broadest sense, any kind of intended acquisition, such as an academic degree (any act of acquiring). – Amount of money as payment for an activity, especially the salary for professional work performed (amount of money from labor), in statistics called earned income. – Object acquired or gained (something acquired or gained). – Person added to a group (a person added to a group). – In financial language, especially the purchase of an asset (taking possession of an asset by purchase) and especially a security. – The purchase of one corporation by another, through either the purchase of its shares, or the purchase of its assets. – See acquisition offer, mergers and acquisitions.
