Shadow rating and internal rating

In-house assessment of all areas of a company, usually based on assessment criteria that are stricter than those of the rating agencies. – In the financial sector all over the world, but increasingly also in the case of companies dependent on the financial market, such a shadow rating is carried out at short intervals in order to avoid a downgrade by rating agencies or to become aware of any risk factors as quickly as possible. – Shadow rating, by definition an assessment carried out by a company’s own employees, is more cost-effective than shadow rating, in which a rating agency is entrusted with this task. – See Shadow Rating.
