Postulate and postulation (requisition)

In older documents, also the government’s request to the chamber responsible for appropriating funds (Landstände; estates of the country) for the allocation of money for certain government tasks, often also combined with a request for the introduction of a new levy covering this additional expenditure. – See appropriation law, budget, loan vote.
