Nominal value guarantee (deposit guarantee)
The agreement in (investment) contracts that a depositor will be compensated with the full amount paid in upon dissolution or termination of the contractual relationship – even in the event of losses by the fund. – In Germany, this is a legal requirement under the Retirement Assets Act. At least the paid-in amount must be available at the beginning of the payout phase. It should be noted, however, that the purchasing power of the money paid in and the money to be paid out at the end of the contract period is not taken into account here. – See Retirement Assets Act, Balanced, Pension Fund, Rabbi Trust – See Deutsche Bundesbank Monthly Report, July 2002, p. 28.
