Budget consolidation

The accomplished adjustment of expenditures to the revenues of a public body, usually said in the sense of a reduction in expenditures. – From around 2010, also used in the sense of – a government not continuing to exceed the limits of new borrowing as blithely as before; then also frequently referred to as success in saving or – the limit of government debt is simply set at a higher mark overall, as in the U.S. in August 2011 (doubtless it was accurately called a “deceptive maneuver”). – See Budget Crisis, Sovereign Debt Crisis – Annual Report 2013 of the Deutsche Bundesbank, p. 58 ff. (budgetary situation and government investment broken down since 1991; overview).
