Roosa effect (locking-in effect)
Securities have a lower market value when the market interest rate is high; it does not pay to sell them and thus create money. Holders of the securities therefore wait until the interest rate falls again and are more likely to sell only then. – See investment opportunity cost, bear trap, liquidity preference, opportunity cost.
