Coverage for Reading Proficiency Level 2 measures the proportion of children who reach or have access to the reading opportunity defined by Level 2 in the Human Opportunities Index (HOI). It indicates how widespread that opportunity is across the child population, but does not show whether children from different family or social backgrounds benefit from it to the same extent. Such differences in distribution are assessed separately within the HOI framework. The underlying data are provided by the LAC Equity Lab.
