Coverage: School Enrollment

Within the Human Opportunities Index (HOI), school-enrolment coverage is the share of school-age children who have access to the schooling opportunity, expressed as a rate for the population concerned. It describes access in aggregate and forms the HOI's basic coverage component. Because the measure is not disaggregated by circumstances, it cannot show disparities associated with factors such as family conditions or place of residence.
