Coverage: Sanitation

Within the Human Opportunities Index, the coverage rate denotes how widespread access to a particular opportunity is among children in the relevant population. The opportunity may be a service or another basic condition. The measure describes the aggregate level of access, but does not reveal whether children from different circumstance groups, such as those defined by family background or residence, benefit equally. A high rate may therefore coexist with pronounced disparities between groups.
