## Definition

Number of Exporters per HS6 Product: Mean measures the average number of distinct exporters supplying an HS6 product in a given country and year. It is calculated from customs records by determining the exporter count for each six-digit product category and averaging those counts across the relevant product categories. The indicator describes how widely export activity is distributed across firms within product lines. A higher value generally indicates that more exporters serve the average product category, although the result also depends on the country’s product mix and the range of products recorded in the data.
